ORA, OC, Lings, and 20+ other Mysterious Watch Brands

Today it’s about some brands of watches and watch movements, the history of which is almost unknown, but which are all related. The linchpin here is the ORA brand. So, let’s start with it!
This movement was my first encounter with the ORA brand:

Taschenuhren aus Österreich? Ok, aber Uhrwerke? Warum eigentlich nicht, schließlich stellen aktuell die Österreicher Maria Kristina and Richard Habring großartige Uhren mit eigenen Werken her!

Wir gehen hier aber mehr als 100 Jahre zurück in die Vergangenheit. 1903 eröffnet die Firma Obrecht & Cie. aus der schweizerischen Uhrenstadt Grenchen im österreichischen Bludenz einen Betrieb zur Remontage von Schweizer Uhren.

Sea-Gull ST1902 Chronograph: Disassembly and Assembly

Chronographenwerke sehen auf den ersten Blick immer furchtbar kompliziert aus. Deshalb will ich euch hier zeigen, wie man einen Chronographen mit Schaltrad und horizontaler Kupplung zerlegt. Ein paar Tipps zum Zusammenbau und zum Justieren wird es natürlich auch geben. Konkret geht es hier um ein chinesisches Sea-Gull ST1902. Dieses ist ein Nachbau des Schweizer Venus 175 auf Originalmaschinen, die Sea-Gull von Venus erworben hat.
