Ricoh? Sure, they produce copiers, printers and cameras, but mechanical movements and watches? In fact, Ricoh was the number four Japanese manufacturer of self-developed mechanical watch movements, after Seiko, Citizen and Orient.

Takano, the Phantom Japanese Watch Manufacturer

Actually this should be an article about automatic movements of the Japanese watch manufacturer Ricoh. However, it soon became apparent that the history of Ricoh’s watch division is so exciting that it deserves its own contribution. Therefore, the Japanese company Takano will be in the limelight here, without which there would probably have been no mechanical watch movements made by Ricoh!

Avia ajustor – Regulation made easy

Jede Uhr weist Gangabweichungen auf, mal sind sie kleiner, mal sind sie größer. Bei mechanischen Uhren liegen die Gangabweichungen meist bei einigen Sekunde bis hin zu einer Minute am Tag. Ist die tägliche Abweichung immer in etwa gleich groß, so kann das Werk normalerweise einfach reguliert und ein wenig schneller oder langsamer eingestellt werden. Dazu ist aber der Gang zum Uhrmacher des Vertrauens nötig!

A Junghans Olympic with manufacture calibre 620.02

Zu den Olympischen Spielen 1972 in München hat Junghans bereits 1970 die Armbanduhren-Modellreihe Junghans Olympic vorgestellt. Junghans war bei den Olympischen Spielen 1972 offizieller Zeitnehmer und die neue Modellreihe sollte einen bewusst sportlichen Touch  haben.
